# What makes someone British?

From [the UKJP’s manifesto](https://ukjp.org.uk/manifesto/), National identity: _British citizenship is shared by all who earn it, whatever their background: the same law, the same language and the same flag._

Is that enough? What should someone have to do, know or accept to become British?

Any position may be argued here, including that the question is framed wrongly.
