From [the UKJP’s manifesto](https://ukjp.org.uk/manifesto/), Britain in the world: _The 2025 treaty handing them to Mauritius, at an average of £101m a year for 99 years, is not ratified, and the money is not paid._

Is the treaty a sensible settlement of a legal dispute, or a handover Britain never needed to make?
